"It didn't register, because I'm not a racist"
A Republican women's club in San Bernardino County sent out a recent newsletter with a photo of Barack Obama surrounded by fried chicken, watermelon and ribs, sparking widespread outrage and rebuke from GOP leaders and Democrats.
The illustration shows the Democratic presidential candidate's head atop a donkey's body on a bogus $10 bill referred to as "Obama Bucks." Inscribed on the money are the words "United States Food Stamps" surrounded by stereotypical African American food.
"I apologize to anyone who was offended because that was not my intent," said club President Diane Fedele. "It was poor judgment on my part. It was strictly an attempt to point out the outrageousness of Obama's statement that he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills." The caption reads: "Obama talks about all those presidents that got their names on bills. If elected, what bill would he be on ????? Food Stamps, what else!"
Fedele said the mailer merely parodied the statements Obama made during a debate last summer and wasn't racist.
"If I was racist, I would have looked at it through racist eyes," she said. "I am not racist, which is why it probably didn't register."
Club member Kristina Sandoval agreed.
"None of us are racists," she said.
The use of watermelon, ribs and fried chicken was innocent, she said.
"Everyone eats those foods, it's not a racial thing."

Of course you're not Diane … watermelon, fried chicken, food stamps …. Only a racist, with "racist eyes" would ever find anything so benign remotely racist. …com'on, we all know "everyone eats those foods".
If there was ever even the remotest bit of doubt in your mind, Ms Fedele has now confirmed for all the world to see exactly what the lovely ladies of the Chaffey Community Republican Women Federated really are. …. Jeez

As if the ladies in San Bernardino weren't enough….. the Sacramento County Republican's tried their best to compete in the newest "Racist Attack on Obama Sweepstakes" with this entry:
Violent anti-Barack Obama rhetoric - such as "Waterboard Barack Obama" - and images linking the Democratic presidential candidate to terrorist leader Osama bin Laden appeared this week on the official Web site of the Sacramento County Republican Party, the latest in a series of increasingly graphic attacks nationwide on the Illinois senator that seek to cast him as a terrorist sympathizer.
California Republican Party officials asked Sacramento party leaders to remove the offensive material, including an image of Obama in a turban next to bin Laden near the caption: "The difference between Osama and Obama is just a little B.S."

Sacramento County GOP Chairman Craig MacGlashan claimed that, "At first, I did not realize how offensive the material was, and in the rush to move past it, I didn't take it seriously enough."

"Fedele said she got the illustration in a number of chain e-mails and decided to reprint it for her members in the Trumpeter newsletter because she was offended that Obama would draw attention to his own race. She declined to say who sent her the e-mails with the illustration."
And she didn't know it was racist BUT she did it because Obama drew attention to his own race?
Just remember that this is what passes as fun humor in Republican emails these days. And she tries to blame Obama for her sick actions? There is a lot to be said about Republicans passing the buck on personal responsibility.
